STATEMENT
CONCERNING RACIAL SLUR BY DUANE "DOG" CHAPMAN First
of all I want everyone to read my commentary on this issue; it does not offend
me if you are against DOG or if you’re a huge fan. I
have an up close and personal view of who Duane DOG Chapman really is and what
he and his show is all about. I have known DOG and BETH for nearly 20 years. I
have shared good times and bad times with them. The Bail Bond Industry is a very
tough business to stay in. Getting in the business is easy, staying in is hard.
We are closely monitored here in Did
DOG make a mistake by saying the "N" word? ABSOLUTELY, I am sure that
he is still searching in his heart to find the right words while admitting to
the world he is sorry, however, knowing DOG the way that I do he will NEVER
forgive himself. As Christians which I will tell you DOG is; we all make
mistakes and we all ask for forgiveness. Thank God, that the Lord is forgiving,
"FOR BUT FOR THE GRACE OF GOD THERE GO I". None of this will ease the
pain caused by using the "N" word, I do not condone his use of it but
we must also remember none of us were part of that telephone conversation that
was to be private between himself and his son. Once again even in private, there
is no excuse offered for using a word that can not be uttered. The
"N" word should be banned from the lips of everyone; no one can ever
explain to me how it is fair to turn on radio stations heard around the world
and hear African American artists repeat that word dozens of times in one song.
What about the millions of African Americans that are not a part of that so
called pop culture of music? SHOULD those artists not be held accountable for
saying that word over PUBLIC RADIO AIRWAVES? DOG is sorry, are those artists
that are making millions freely saying the same word sorry for the MILLIONS of
dollars they are making for themselves, their producers and advertisers? I
have appeared on DOG'S show many times, we have arrested countless people of
every race for being serious FUGITIVES FROM JUSTICE. Tension and fear runs high
at the time of every arrest. No matter what race the individual that is being
arrested, I have NEVER heard DOG use the "N" word, he is not a RACIST,
he loves what he does, he loves his family and although during an arrest he may
use profanity, he is always the first one to try to make peace, talk to the
fugitive and offer anything possible to help change that persons life. He does
NOT see COLOR. I
know DOG is speaking out to the world, offering his sincere APOLOGY and his vow
to NEVER say the "N" word again. I can promise everyone that his
message is sincere, he is sorry and he deserves another chance to continue to
take some of the vilest WANTED FUGITIVES off of our streets. Thank
you and God Bless, Bobby
